 | 2010 Spring Season

Hi Captains-
With the Fall season winding down, it's time to start thinking about the Spring. As most of you remember, the County (NEMP, EMP, SEMP) and City/AMSA (OCSC) close the soccer fields through the winter. The fields will reopen in mid-February. This makes for a very long, sad break from soccer. Boo. The official date to open the fields has not been announced yet. I will pass that information along as soon as it is available. I anticipate the reopening to be Feb 13th.
In preparation of the Spring 2010 Season, we will have the
Spring Captain's Meeting
January 13, 2009, at 7:00pm.
YMCA - upstairs
1100 West Cesar Chavez Street
The deadline to register and pay for the Spring season will be Friday, January 15th. Team fees for the Spring are $400. We will have approximately 13-14 weeks available to us for play. The only weekend off during the season will be Easter Weekend. As for referee fees, this amount will remain the same for the spring season.
Another event to keep in mind for the Spring is the ACSA Tournament. The tournament will be held February 20-21, 2010. We will ask for help/volunteers in running this tournament. Please contact the Tournament Director, Alissa Ziemainski, if you have any tournament ideas, want to volunteer, etc. Her email address is ziemianski@gmail.com.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You may contact me at zottarelli@aol.com. Once the season is complete, division commissioners will go through standings to make sure the standings are calculated correctly.
Hope everyone has a great last game on December 5th and a Happy Holiday season. We'll see you in January.

Fall Captains Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2009, 7:00pm. The meeting will be at the Townlake YMCA located at 1100 W. Cesar Chavez.

Our very own Austin Aztex FC have only a few games left for their regular season and are playing to win the U.S. Open Cup.
On July 1, 2009, the Aztex's will host the Houston Dynamo in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. The game will be played in Austin at Reagan Athletic Field. If you haven't seen Austin Aztex FC in action, check out the complete schedule at Austin Aztex Home.

ACSA TOURNAMENT & STATE CUP WEEKEND IS ALMOST HERE!
The ACSA is hosting their own tournament and hosting the 2009 Coed State Cup, February 28-March 1, 2009 at Northeast Metro Park. We need volunteers to work this weekend and help the tournaments be great big successes.
If you are interested in volunteering and watching some great soccer in the meantime, contact Alissa Ziemianski at ziemianski@gmail.com or Sarah Zottarelli at zottarelli@aol.com.
Volunteers are needed at the following times:
SATURDAY, FEB 28
8:00am to 11:30am
12:00pm to 3:30pm
3:00pm to 6:30pm
SUNDAY, MARCH 1
9:00am to 12:30pm
11:30am to 3:00pm
For each shift worked, the volunteer will receive a $50 credit off the summer registration fee for the team of their choice. Duties include registration, merchandise, concessions, field commissioner for State Cup games, etc.

 | 2008 Summer Season is Now Underway

CAPTAINS NEED THEIR TEAM ROSTER AT EACH GAME AND EACH PLAYER MUST HAVE A VALID ACSA PLAYER ID CARD.
It's Summer in Texas and it will be HOT, HOT, HOT. Use a common sense and pay attention to yourself and your teammates. Use a LOT of sun block. Drink a lot of water. If you start getting chills or feel light headed, you need to get somewhere cool. Don't try to tough it out. Get off the field and into the shade or A/C.
Above all, approach Summer Soccer with the deference it deserves and remember it's for fun.

Captains - To access your team's roster, log in to the captain's area. Once logged in, there is a link to the PDF version of the team roster for you to download and print.
REMEMBER: Captains must have a copy of their team roster at every game and each player must have a valid player ID card. |

Hope you are all excited about the season starting. We've had a long break so I'm sure everyone is ready to play. Please remember to be sportsmanlike and treat others they way you want to be treated.
Please remember your division commissioners are here for you. If you have a question, comment or problem within your division, please contact your commissioner. You may find the name and contact information for your division commissioner under "ACSA General Information." You will also find my contact information along with contact information for Frank Allcorn, League Registrar and Scheduler, and Paula K, Referee Coordinator. We are all here to help as needed.
