We know a lot of you have been coming to this site for updates on the league and other soccer musings, and it's our fault for neglecting it.
But we also know a lot of you have discovered our presence in other places on this widest of world webs.

| Final registration reminder and schedule update

Teams looking to register! We are now in the final stages of registration. There are no more early discounts. Fees are now $450. If you haven't paid by now you have until the 3rd week of the season to do so.
At the captains meeting last night, the league voted to add one game to the beginning of the schedule and one game to the end. The schedule is now
9/10 - NEMP
9/17 – OCSC (ACL weekend, matches optional)
9/24 – NEMP
10/1 – NEMP
10/8 – NEMP

10/22 – NEMP

One final note, a number of you did not send a representative to the captains meeting. Our constitution provides for a monetary penalty for teams that do not show. This is the last season we will be friendly about this. Look for fines to happen if you miss the spring captains meeting. |

We'll be meeting at our new favorite venue again - Space12. They host all sorts of local events and have enthusiastically welcomed our organization. They are located at the address above, (just west of Airport Blvd).
If your team plans on playing in the Fall, you must have a representative at the meeting. See you there! |

| Registration for summer is open!!!!

Registration for the summer season is now open!
Early registration discount deadline is May 2nd.
Regular registration deadline is May 23rd.
After May 23rd, registration will only be accepted with a late penalty and pending scheduling availability. We are looking at May 25th as our final date we can accept registrations in order to be ready for the start of the season.
The summer season kicks off on June 4th. Don't forget, we have a captains meeting on May 11. If you are a captain and want a say in the officer elections and/or you are planning on playing in the summer you must attend. The meeting will again be held at Space 12 (3121 E 12th St).

| Season starts Saturday, kickoff party Friday night

The schedules are up and the season is ready to go. First games are on Saturday, but we're having a kick-off party Friday night at Mugshots. So come on by and meet some other members of the league. The party starts at 8 PM, and we've secured some free beer for you all (with a valid player card) until the keg runs out.

| Spring Registration is open!

Thanks to everyone for a great Fall season! Just a little break and we'll be back on the pitch for the Spring.
Mark your calendars...the Spring season will run from February 19 - May 21 (no ACSA matches on March 12 due to the Texas Coed Soccer Brawl and April 23 for Easter weekend). This is 12 scheduled matches.
Early Deadline - Dec 31, $350
REGISTRATION DEADLINE - Jan 31, 2011 ($400)

| World Cup Viewing

The Tavern! (they have air conditioning!) at 12th and Lamar is the place to be for the World Cup, even the early games. They have drink specials and breakfast tacos for those 6:30AM showings. When you're not at Wahoo's celebrating the kickoff and watching US v England, The Tavern is where to go. |

GAMES ON FIELD 8 FOR JUNE 26, 2010 ARE MOVED TO FIELD 15.
Why? There is an irrigation leak on Field 8 so the County needs to work on the field. If your game is on Field 8, report to FIELD 15 instead.
This only effects games on Field 8. All other games are to be played as originally scheduled.

| 1st Annual Mark Elbom Memorial Soccer Appreciation Picnic

The picnic will be held Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 4 to 6 pm at Southeast Metropolitan Park. The picnic will be catered and food will be served 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Please poll your teams and let your division commissioners know by Wednesday, MAY 19, 2010 if you will attend the picnic. Contact information for division commissioners is posted on the web site.

All coed games are cancelled this weekend. The NEMP rainout number has changed since the original closure, but we are cancelling the coed games since we've already notified everyone of this closure. ALL COED GAMES ARE CANCELLED.
Sorry for the confusion. Teams will be issued a credit for the rainout.

| Captains' Meeting and Summer Deadlines

Captains' Meeting for the Summer Season will be Wednesday, April 28 at 7:00pm. We will meet at the TownLake YMCA located at 1100 W. Cesar Chavez. The Summer Season will start Saturday, June 5th. The deadline to register and pay fees is Friday, May 7th. Fees for the summer are $350 for returning teams, $300 for membership teams and $450 for new teams.
Please remember the pre-summer meeting is when we have officer elections. If you have an interest in running for one of these positions, please be at this meeting.

| Mark Elbom - Celebration of Life

Captains-
As many of you now know, Mark Elbom, long time referee for the ACSA and the AWSL, passed away early Monday morning, March 29. On Saturday, April 3 at 2PM, his family has planned a celebration of his life at East Metropolitan Park, Soccer Field #1. The address is 18701 Blake Manor Rd., Manor, TX 78653. East Metropolitan Park. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the
American Diabetes Association, American Diabetes Assoc. or the Austin Humane Society, Austin Humane Society.
There will also be something done by the ACSA, along with the AWSL, to honor and memorialize Mark; he was a mainstay who was at the soccer fields nearly every week for decades. The details of this are being worked out with Travis County PARD. Your division commissioners and/or I will keep you posted as information develops. Some ideas include hanging a plaque at his favorite county park pavilion, installing a bench with a plaque, and/or planting a tree. Of course, if you have a suggestion, please feel free to send your suggestions to your division commissioners.
